Some of Bessie Smith recordings were inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame such as "St. Louis Blues" and "Empty Bed Blues." Bessie Smith sounds great on vinyl where you can really hear the power behind her voice.

    You are an inspiration to me. But it must have been very hard for you to become a successful artist as a black woman in this time period. It was hard enough for me as a black man.

    Bessie your voice is beautiful! I really love it and your blog. I just listened to your song "St. Louis Blues". It's cool that you had music videos even back in the twenties!
